The Daily

Untitled #14

Happy Wednesday!
Everyone has morning routines - skin & makeup. Well here is mine, plain & simple - These are the products I use every morning before running errands or heading out to school. I always start with washing my face with Purpose Gentle wash - I have very sensitive skin due to eczema & this is perfect for me, it also takes of makeup great! Second I follow through with the Clean & Clear moisturizer with salicylic which helps & prevents acne. Ive been trying to find the perfect sunscreen for a few months now, some come on too heavy & some get me really oily within an hour - This facial sunscreen by Peter Thomas Roth is amazing! It has oil control content & stays on all day. For liquid foundation I use Almay Clear Complexion - work well with my sensitive skin & it has salicylic acid so it helps reduce acne while covering. For powder I either use Pur Minerals or Bare Minerals depending which i have in my hand that morning, they both work well with full coverage & SPF. The only mascara I use is by Mally, wont get flaky and fall in my eye & it lasts all day. Lastly my new favorite blush is from Tarte - All their colors are amazing!

My next journey takes me back to Baltimore & Washington where my brother is leaving his dorm & moving into his own apartment. We will be helping him move in & get ready for his classes- as well as experiencing some culture, shopping, & locals foods!
Till then I am leaving you with some tips for traveling & staying comfortable at the airport & in-flight.

  1. Knit Sweater - I always carry a sweater or a trench when traveling, because you already know that before boarding that airplane it will be cold. The Knit sweater shown is from JCrew.
  2. Moisturizer - It is always great to put on moisturizer before and after your flight because of the dry air inside of the cabin. I always use Olay Complete for sensitive skin with SPF15
  3. Comfy Shoes - Depending on the length of your flight; you might want to include some comfortable shoes. I always sport these grey TOMS when I travel, they match anything you put on & they are just so comfortable to be on the plane in & they are so easy on your feet when it comes to walking around the airport.
  4. Lip Balm - Its always great to keep ones lips moisturized especially when always on the go. I use Burt's Bees - I love the tinted ones as well - Add some color to your lips.
  5. Foundation - Before getting off the plane - touch up your face with some of your foundation! I use Bare Escentuals matte.
  6. Mineral Water Spray - I LOVE using this on hot summer days while at the beach or a theme park - But it is also great to keep your skin hydrated on flights. I use Evian whenever I am on vacation.
  7. Facial Towelettes - Its always great to carry these whenever on the go! They work great when you are traveling because everywhere you come in contact with there is bacteria & being so long on a flight your face will feel icky & dull. I have been using Yes To Carrots
  8. Electronics - Weather it is your iPad, Iphone, or your laptop; it is always a great idea to bring these along. You can read, play some games or surf the internet using the planes WiFi.

SUMMER FUN & STAYING SAFE

Bikini: Victorias Secret | Watch: Swatch
Great Barrier Reef - Grand Cayman

JUST PASSING ON SOME GOOD TO KNOW INFO FOR YOUR AQUEOUS ACTIVITIES THIS SUMMER
As time goes by I become more cautious with the products I use on both my face & body, as well as what the weather can do to damage one's skin. When winter calls you must keep your skin hydrated due to dryness, but in the summer its all about the intense UV Rays. Here is my guide to staying safe & having fun under the sun!
  1. SPF: Summer or not you should always wear a facial moisturizer with SPF. When it comes to going to the beach & participating in outdoor activities you should always wear a sun block that is water resistant & also non greasy. For the face I recommend Aveeno Baby Continuos Protection Sun Block, for the body Banana Boat Ultra Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen & for the lips Blistex Deep Renewal
  2. LEAVE-IN: When getting out of the salty or chlorine water it is always best to hydrate your hair with a leave in conditioner. I prefer a mousse type formula rather than a spray; I recommend Aussie leave in conditioner mousse. When baking in the sun I use [condition 3-in-1 which is a leave in conditioner mousse + SPF] they recently stopped putting them up on shelves so if any of you know of any mousse type formula that has SPF please let me know!
  3. HAT/SUNGLASSES: Heres to hoping you don't get a scalp burn! Hats are an easy way to cast off scalp burns if you are going for a loose beach wave look. [or simply just pick up your hair] Sunglasses are a way to keep you from aging if you really look at it... The more you squint from the sun the more visible your lines will appear.
Tip: If you have acne prone skin, don't worry about applying your daily creams and medications; the beach is your natural cure. Salt water cleans your pores, exfoliates your face & dries up acne.

FACIAL REGIMEN

Every so often I end up changing my facial regimen due to my hormones or weather change.
FIRST thing all my readers should know about me is that i have very sensitive skin, since I could remember I have been suffering with eczema. Everything on this post is great for sensitive skin and non-irritating.

Purity:  I use purity as my makeup remover, I know woman live & breath this product but I only use it when i wear heavy makeup like on weekends because it is not paraben free. It is the only cleanser/makeup remover that is non irritating to my skin, so I use it when i need to.
Alba Botanica:  My friend recommended this facial cleanser to me in march & I LOVE IT. I use this facial cleanser in the mornings when i wake up it has an amazing pineapple smell so it wakes you up. Both the cleanser and the toner are hypo-allergenic, 100% vegetarian ingrediants & most important Paraben free.
Cetaphil:  I use this moisturizer at night before going to bed. Not thats its heavy, but a pea size drop will take you a long way! The whole bottle can probably last you half a year and thats using it everyday on face & body. Greatly recommended for sensitive skin, they also just recently came out with a line for eczema prone skin so i will be trying it once this bottle runs out.
